Green Moth

We sure do have lots of wildlife up here! Among other things, if we leave the porch light on, there will often be moths and other insects hanging out on the walls and front door. The other night I found this beautiful green moth!

I am hoping this moth comes back for another visit because I'd like a better picture!

  1. I have a terrible phobia of insects but this picture almost makes it look cute! Almost!

  2. Oh boy...let me give you some advice: do not EVER go to a jungle! I'll have to get some pictures of our trips to Belize and Costa Rica. You will run screaming for your life at some of the pictures and stories I have about bugs and creepy crawlies! For instance, we had a flying locust/grasshopper insect flying around the light in front of our door one night. We were alerted to it because we heard a bonking noise as we returned to our outdoor bungalo...and we saw something...a bat...a bird...WHAT WAS THAT THING...flying around the exposed light bulb. We approached, and resting on the wall was a cricket/grasshopper/locust that was, and I kid you not, a good 5" in length from proboscis to butt...and then it started flying around again and banging into Steve! Now, he's bold, but there's a point. When a monster insect movie comes to life, that's when you start screaming like a 6 year old girl! *cackle*

  3. Omg I would probably faint if that ever happened to me. I'd love to go to a jungle to see the wildlife there, but I couldn't handle it because of stuff like that! One time a beetle landed in my hair for a second by our porch light and I freaked out. I screamed then ran inside and showered. My least favorite thing about MO is there are tons of cicada's here. They're so gross. *tries to think happy thoughts* >.>

  4. Heather, you're adorable. I would just have so much fun with you! *looks for a bug to drop down the back of your shirt* :D

Truthfully, you gotta handle your freakout sessions because if you like nature, you absolutely MUST go to Costa Rica once in your life. It was the most amazing place I have ever visited in my life in terms of nature and animals. Unbelievable. Geez...you're going to coax me to upload our Costa Rica images and do a picture journal...but that's a project for another day down the road. I'll see if I can't get a few pictures though!
